Fathers Day
This weekend marks a special holiday set aside just for Fathers and Grandfathers in our life.
I lost my father a few years ago and have so many fond memories of the fathers days we spent together. I only wish I could have had more time.
Oh the many times that our Dad has been there for us through the years, When you are a small child he is there to help you when you feel afraid Dad's add that security and warm loving arms to the little children. I remember thinking my Dad could do anything and that he was strong and made me feel safe and very loved.
When a bug or spider looked to close who was the hero we would call on to take care of it. I was very blessed to have a loving caring Dad and spent many days tagging along and trying to watch and learn everything I could from him.
I was definately a Daddy's little girl and I am so thankful that I was and spent the times I did, I wish I could have him here today watching my own children grow up and seeing the amazing things they do from day to day, I know he would have enjoyed them so much and I see characteristics come out in them sometimes that really remind me of him!
So if you have your Dad with you, be sure you show him how much you care and love him and savour those moments because life is too short and you never know when that will be ended for you.
So take the time to spend a special day with that special someone, and it isn't so much what you give them but the time you share together that means the most!
You could take him out fishing for the day and just away from the TV and hustle and bustle of the world or out to a nice restaurant, have a nice family cookout and just hang out with the ones you love!
Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's and Grandpa's out there!
