Oklahoma Spring Weather

As usual the Oklahoma weather is so incredibly unpredictable, one minute the skys are bright and sunny and before you know it there are clouds and thunder and lightning, or warnings of tornados.

One day is cold and the next is like summer. You are never quite sure how to dress.
The other night we had the most horrible Hail Storm I had ever seen. After staying awake and watching the weather on our news channels and checking the paths of the storm it seemed like it was all going to
go around us and that we were actually going to miss the bad stuff.....
Well after almost dozing off and resting it was like WOAH! At 2am There was hail slightly smaller than golf balls pounding our house and cars! EEKS! It sounded horrible on the windows of our house like you wondered if the glass was going to break.

I have never seen hail like that and for such a length of time. It looked like we had a huge ice dispenser drop down on everything it hailed for at least 30 minutes to an hour. It was very unreal. Looking out side our window the streets were covered and the ground was covered the beating on everything was going on and on and on.
It looked almost like a snow covered ground.
I tried to take a photo but my camera wasn't wanting to focus in and flash in the darkness.
It was probably just me and in all the excitement of the moment just couldn't get my mind working right.

The next day everyone was out assessing damage on cars, thankfully our area wasn't hit as bad as some because there were not any cracked windshields but it looks like someone was pounding on the hoods of the cars. I am sure this is going to keep a lot of Auto Body Shops and Insurance companies busy for awhile.

A Hailstorn like this doesn't happen very often at all and I am thankful for that. I talked with our insurance agent and they said they started receiving phone calls at 3am that morning once the hailstorm was over from those too impatient to wait until morning to report their damages.

Keep your eyes on those storms.
