Jon and Kate plus 8?

One of the biggest things currently in the tabloids and on the news and pretty much anywhere near a newstand you see stories popping up everywhere about Jon and Kate plus 8.

If you missed several of the first seasons of the show now you can get all you can stand of Jon and Kate plus 8 episodes seasons 1 through 4 now on DVD
http://www.dealofday.com/deal/get/50067.html

Kate seems to be a very critical overbearing wife and the strain I am sure is huge with that many small children but would love to see that lady relax and chill out with her family and not be so harsh with them. I think most people just watch in amazement that she takes so much control over the lives as they go along in their world.

For all those fans here you go if you want to see how it all started and to what point thier lives have progressed.

Fathers Day

This weekend marks a special holiday set aside just for Fathers and Grandfathers in our life.
I lost my father a few years ago and have so many fond memories of the fathers days we spent together. I only wish I could have had more time.

Oh the many times that our Dad has been there for us through the years, When you are a small child he is there to help you when you feel afraid Dad's add that security and warm loving arms to the little children. I remember thinking my Dad could do anything and that he was strong and made me feel safe and very loved.

When a bug or spider looked to close who was the hero we would call on to take care of it. I was very blessed to have a loving caring Dad and spent many days tagging along and trying to watch and learn everything I could from him.
I was definately a Daddy's little girl and I am so thankful that I was and spent the times I did, I wish I could have him here today watching my own children grow up and seeing the amazing things they do from day to day, I know he would have enjoyed them so much and I see characteristics come out in them sometimes that really remind me of him!

So if you have your Dad with you, be sure you show him how much you care and love him and savour those moments because life is too short and you never know when that will be ended for you.

So take the time to spend a special day with that special someone, and it isn't so much what you give them but the time you share together that means the most!

You could take him out fishing for the day and just away from the TV and hustle and bustle of the world or out to a nice restaurant, have a nice family cookout and just hang out with the ones you love!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's and Grandpa's out there!

Graduation

You know it seems like only yesterday I was getting ready to end the High school Senior year and graduate with my class. I still remember the anxieties of now what? Wondering how life would be after this, all the friends I had grown up with through kindergarten, grade school, middle school and now we were ending this ride of life! This was it, we were parting ways and the routine we all had known for the past 13 years was now final and over and now the unsurity of our futures.

I remember being sad, anxious, happy, all the anticipations, I remember so many times in our classes we had talked and could not wait for this day to come but now it was here the reality was a little overwhelming. Oh the roller coaster ride of emotions as you walked across the stage and get your diploma and get to move your tassel over on your cap. On to New responsiblities and decisions to be made, we were moving into the adult world now!

Last year our oldest son graduated and it was still so fresh in my memory of going through the same process, it didn't seem like that long ago that was me and my husband in those shoes, Yet 20 years had passed! How did that happen, where did the time go? Whoa! One really neat thing about him graduating it was exactly 20 years after I did and then another cool thing is my Dad had graduated from the same high school 30 years prior to me. I can only imagine now how he must have felt watching me as I graduated. I am sure alot of the same things I felt last year watching my oldest baby boy walk across that stage.

Enjoy those special moments with your family time passes by so quickly!
Congratulations to all the graduates of 2008!

Homework?

I am not sure what the homework is like at your house, but with 4 coming home after school everyday with several assignments to do that evening, it can get really frustrating and time consuming. Sometimes it makes me wonder what my children were doing at school that day, all day long, to have so many pages of work to do when they get home. At first it had me worrying, were they not paying attention or behaving badly in class that day?

If you are a baby boomer then you‘ll remember the good old days when you played outside all day and complained vehemently when you were told to go inside for the night.

If you take a look outside these days the streets are fairly empty with few people even walking on the sidewalk or playing in the grass. We’ve become somewhat paranoid and the game has changed.

Origami Instructions - Getting Started

by: Andre McFayden

The birthplace of origami is still a mystery. Paper was developed in China in the first century A.D., and Buddhist monks brought it to Japan by the sixth century A.D. However there are not many written records from that time, so it is not known whether origami first began in China or Japan. However, no one will argue that Japan developed origami to a high art form. The word origami is Japanese: oru means "to fold", and kami means "paper".

Parenting Styles - Overcoming Your Differences

by Lore Radun

If you spend any time in the parenting section of the library or your local bookstore, you will find hundreds of books on disciplining and raising your children. All the leading experts have their own ideas about what works and what doesn’t. As a parent, you have your philosophy that you bring to the table. Most of your thoughts come from what you learned as a child. You either liked the way your parents raised you, agreed with some of it and disagreed with the rest, or didn’t like any part of your parents’ ideas. Then you talk to or watch other mothers you know and these ideas get added to the mix. You take the best from all these sources and you set off to be the best mom you can be.
