Saving Money On Utilities

In the summer time we all want to stay nice and cool,
But we don't want to have to pay a fortune to do so,
if you want to make your house feel cooler and be able to
save on your energy bills, here are a couple of things
that can help,
When you have rooms you don't use like a storage room or other,
be sure you close off the vents and keep the door closed.
So you are only paying to cool
the areas of your home that you are utilizing. This will help,
also if you are going to be away for the day, its ok to turn the
temperature up slightly but I don't recommend totally turning off your air conditioner,
this will only make it work harder when you get back home and turn it on,
it is so much more efficient to keep it cool than to let it heat up and cool it all over again
this will save alot on your bills, just leaving your thermostat set on a certain temperature and
not varying it alot will make alot of difference in your utility bills.

I highly recommend using ceiling fans or other fans to help circulate air in your home, this will
allow you to keep the temperature set a little warmer and still feels just as cool with the air
stirring about.

One other tip that has a huge impact is keeping your window blinds closed and curtains closed so that
the heat cannot come so easily into the house. If you don't have window blinds I suggest getting something
inexpensive to cover and keep the sunlight out during the heat of the day, the house will stay cooler and your
air conditioner will not work nearly as hard to keep it a comfortable temperature.

Stay cool this summer!
