Strawberry Shortcake

It seems like everytime I turn around these days I am hearing the "Strawberry Shortcake" Theme song!
we have a 2 1/2 and 4 year old and both of the girls Adore Strawberry Shortcake. They are forever talking
about Angel Cake and Orange blossom and Ginger Snap!

When McDonald's was handing the Strawberry Shortcake themed dolls out with Happy Meals Our Girls were craving Chicken McNuggets REAL BAD! LOL

I remember in the early 80's that Strawberry Shortcake was a popular Character and my younger sister had a bed set made of the Strawberry Shortcake theme.
It's surprising how the classic toys make their way back around and then they get passed on to the next generations as a Brand New Thing!

Old Fashioned Candies!

Have there been special treats or foods that take you back to your childhood,
I have so many memories of going to stay at my Grandma's house on the farm
and then sometime during the course of my stay, we would definately go to the
drugstore, the one I remember the most was called WACKERS.

I would just wait for the moment for us to get ready and go into town, it was probably
about 10 to 15 minutes away from the dairy farm she had in the country.

But when we got there, I was always delighted, while she was shopping I remember having a
quarter to select some candy with. I would scour over the candy racks looking to see
how many pieces of what I could get with my money and make it stretch as far as
possible!

one of my Favorite treats was some Wonderful Flat huge piece of Taffy, it was in rainbow colors (pink, yellow, blue) and then it seems like there were white and pink ones but they had the best taste and

I would patiently walk beside her as she gathered her purchases and wait my turn in line as we went through the checkout and on the way back to the farm I could not wait to tear into that wrapper and taste the sweet snack
of that wonderful taffy. It was Heavenly and made that trip all worth while. I am sure I would add bubble gums and
chick o sticks was another that I would sometimes choose but YUM THAT TAFFY!

To my surprise I was looking at Amazon and they actually have the EXACT SAME TAFFY that I remember getting as a child, I have not seen this product in any of my local stores and was so delighted to see the Sweet familiar treat!

It is McCraws Old Fashioned Taffy and its so cool to see it is still around a nice blast from the past and cool to see a piece of my childhood. So if you have never tried this stuff check it out, it is a totally delightful treat and comes in bulk boxes. Old Fashioned Taffy!

Do Cat Owners Really Need These Things?

I recently bought a cat. I've never paid for a pet before, but after my sweet Fifi passed away, I wanted to be sure my next cat would be as affectionate and lovable and good with the kids as he was. (Yes, Fifi was a he. But that's another story.) So, I bought a registered Ragamuffin cat...and somehow got on the mailing list for every cat catalog imaginable. The THINGS they sell cat owners -- it's amazing; where do they come up with this stuff?!
