Thanksgiving -Ah The Season

Well Thanksgiving time is fast approaching us, this is such a special time of the year,
family get togethers and feasting on all the wonderful food and sharing time with loved ones and friends.

Tis the time to travel and be together with the ones we love and are so thankful for.

Thanksgiving always has so many fond memories for me hanging out in the kitchen watching intently as the dinner was prepared and Mom and Grandma and Aunts visiting and just enjoying the family time, of course then the rest of us coming in and setting down to such an awesome dinner so deliciously prepared for the day! We wanted to eat it all and its hard to know when to stop! The Turkey, dressing, Mom's super fluffy & creamy mashed potatoes!
Cranberry salad, and oh the desserts!!!

Just when you thought you were ready to burst from all the scrumptious food, it was time for dessert! OH MY! One of my FAVORITE PARTS of the day!
The pumpkin pie, pecan pie, cheesecakes, cookies, it is like a totally in home bakery & in home candy store! YUM!

I love being able to watch the children and family now that I am grown up and Now my mom is the grandma and I am the mom and the aunts and uncles are around...wow how time does fly,
it is so great to be able share the traditions of the holiday with my chidren as well!

I do miss my Grandparents dearly and being able to help my Grandma's in the kitchen that was some of the best days ever! But I will say I am thankful to have enjoyed them the years we had together and that I did take the time to try and learn as much as I could from their lifetime of experiences to help me along the way. I know my cooking will never be just like grandma's but there is a special sense of home and family and sentimentalism with trying
to teach my daughters how to cook and share as they always taught me.

We will be blessed to spend the day at my Mom's and with my brother and sisters families and just enjoying a day of being around family ~

I wish you many blessings to you and your family that you will continue to follow old traditions and create some special new ones of your own to pass along and have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
